They’re all low in sugar and low in calories and ready to eat from your local supermarket…
A chocolate fix, a frozen dessert and a soft drink.
Plus what to look for on the labels of foods to see if it qualifies as a “guilt free” treat.
I need a treat, I need a treat. Ah, there’s the broccoli, said no one ever. In this short video, I’m going to share with you three guilt-free treats that you can enjoy without feeling like you’re ruining your health.
Hey, it’s Dr. Leevi from Wises Road Chiropractic, and in this short video, I’m gonna go through three of my favorite guilt-free treats. Let’s face it, we all need a treat every once in a while. So these three treats all harness the power of natural sweeteners. So it’s really important, so obviously, no artificial colors or flavors, but no artificial sweeteners. So nothing like NutraSweet and those types of products. We’re using natural sweeteners. And just to put things in perspective, one thing that we look at with these guilt-free treats is the amount of sugar that they have in them. We’re looking for products that have less than 12 grams of sugar per 100.
Just to give you a little bit of perspective on that, the average yogurt has about 12 grams of sugar in it. So these products are what I would classify as treats and they’ve got less sugar than yogurt.
So let’s have a look.
We’ve got Well Naturally no sugar added milk chocolate. So with this one, you’re looking around 11 grams of sugar per 100 grams of chocolate. The average chocolate bar probably has anywhere from 30 to 50 grams of sugar. And you can grab this in the health food aisle of your store.
Those of you that are into your fizzy drinks, your soft drinks, they are great to wash down a pizza or something like that or sometimes just a fix at the end of the day, this brand, Nexba, makes a really cool range of naturally sweetened soft drinks. And with these, because they use natural sweetener, you are looking at no grams of sugar. So you get the fizzy soft drink, they’ve got really great fruit flavors, but it has no grams of sugar in it. So, that’s pretty cool.
Lastly, for those of us that love our ice creams, there’s a brand called Halo Top, and they’re also harnessing the power of natural sweeteners. And for them, you are looking around 9 grams of sugar per 100 grams. Less sugar in this ice cream than there is in normal yogurt. So, I think that’s pretty cool.
There you have it! You’ve got a chocolate bar, you’ve got a soft drink, and you’ve got a ice cream. There are three guilt-free treats and they’re all available in your supermarket.
If you know someone who could benefit from guilt-free treats, then share this video.
Thanks for watching and I’ll see you soon.
